Scones

This is the base part of the scone.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 tbsp butter (unsalted) Frozen
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Flavorings of choice blueberry, orange, raisins etc

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. In a medium bowl, mix flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Grate butter into flour mixture . Make sure to work the butter into the mix. Use your hands if neccessary (mixture should resemble coarse meal), Mix in your flavorings of choice blueberries, orange, nuts etc.
  4. Mix together the wet ingredients egg and sour cream
  5. Mix the wet and dry ingredients together into a large dough. It will be sticky but press firmly for the dough to mend together.
  6. Place dough on a floured surface and cut into 8 piece triangular stripes.
  7. Cook for 15- 17 mins until golden brown. Let your scones cool befoe serving.
