PODARK

I came across this show on Amazon Prime and this was on my watch list for over a year. I finally sat down and watched the show and my obsession was born! Poldark is a British historical drama television series based on the novels by Winston Graham. The series takes place between the years 1781 and 1801. The story is based around the title character Ross Podark on his return from the American War of Independence in 1783 to his home in Cornwall.

Upon the main character Captain Ross Podark’s return home from the war where he was gone for three years. He discovers that his father has died, his family estate is in ruins, he is broke and has many unpaid debts. To top it off his childhood love Elizabeth is now engaged to his cousin Francis. Now Podark who came home as a war hero is now an outsider who has to build back his life piece by piece.

The cast and scenery of this show are outstanding, the acting is spot on and the fast pace soap opera love story will get you hooked! The only downside to this addictive show is that there are only five seasons. They are not making any more seasons as of 2019. Be warned you will fall in love with this show and will be sad when it is over! Enjoy!
