My Review of the Netflix Series Versailles!
I have been looking for another show to binge and get obsessed with since my love affair with Downton Abbey and Outlander. My best friend for a few years kept telling me to check out Versailles on Netflix and I have had this series saved to my list for two years. Last week, I finally caved and started watching it and all I have to say is WOW! This show is amazing but sadly only three seasons!
Versailles is about King Louis XIV and his obsession and quest to make Versailles what it is today. Soon Versailles becomes a hot bed of love, war, politics and murder! There is a three year period based on true events of nobles being secretly poisoned! No one is safe, not even the king who on the daily has to determine if the people around him are friend or foe! Lot’s of intriguing plots, love affairs and war to satisfy any historical fiction lover.
This show is a mix between the Tudors and Outlander, providing lots of history and drama with the right amount of passion! The show also highlights the relationship between King Louis XIV and his brother Philippe I, Duke of Orleans. This sibling rivalry reminds me of the battle between modern day royals of Prince William and Prince Harry.
The cast, scenery, and costumes are amazing! I learned a lot about King Louis XIV and the show does follow his life chronologically with his wives and many mistresses! I highly recommend this show to anyone who likes period pieces that deliver great stories, historical facts and beautiful aesthetics. The series is currently on Netflix in America. If it is not available on your Netflix you can try Amazon or other streaming platforms like Starz, or maybe even your local library. I have now added Versailles to my life bucket list!

loved this series , it was fablous . i am into period pieces myself , i do not like the modern programming . i have come here from your YT channel to support you and i was pleased to find we have very similar interests and taste , go figure . i am not necassarily a royal enthusist per se’ but i have been keeping up with the farce that is
